first babyshower

Yesterday I attended my first babyshower. My niece is 33 weeks pregnant and together with some of her friends and my other niece we organized a surprise babyshower! We had a really fun afternoon yesterday. I am very curious as to the sex of the baby. My niece knows the sex, but they are not going to tell it. So we will just have to wait and see. I think they will get a boy. Attending this babyshower did make me think about my own future. Well, future... I am already 27! So I am living my future. I want to have kids, but I also enjoy and realize the freedom we have when we don't have them yet. And then again, you don't choose to have children, you get children. So hopefully everything works fine and within a couple of a years I hope to get a little miracle of my own.

16 days till Christmas

Only 16 days left in this years countdown ;) I got some very nice news this weekend. My niece is pregnant! As I don't have any brothers or sisters, this is the closest of a family pregnancy I got. How lovely! Next to that, the next day we heard a befriended couple is engaged and they will be getting married. Love is in the air! What do you expect this December month ;)

Full house

Had a full house this afternoon and I loved it. When I woke up I wanted to have a quit saturday, but that didn't really turn out to be. My friend would come over to catch up and yesterday I heard my father-in-law would come too, to do some work in the garden. Eventually it ended up being a day of dropping by my parents to pick up something, dropping by my grandma and uncle to pick up something, later having all 4 parents at my house, while my girlfriend and I were making apple pie. It was just so convivial (is that the right word?). I loved the liveliness in and around the house. I noticed that sometimes, when I don't really feel much like doing something, I just have to do it. Most of time it turns out to be a wonderful experience! Just like today, I enjoyed my self so much this afternoon. Being surrounded by friends and family. Love it.
