Stay positive they say

You can tell me anything, I will be here for you no matter what. Yeah right. The only feeling I feel is how wrong I am doing things. Nice. What karma is this? Am I that stupid a person? At work? At home. Why aren't I understood? What is it I  doing so terribly wrong?

Cupcake overload

   

Something that cheers me up is baking. And of course eating it afterwards. Had a couple of birthdays these last few weeks and relatives of my boyfriend brought some 'homemade' eggs of their chicken. As my parents-in-law now had lot's of eggs, they gave us some. But I also happened to have bought some new eggs last week, so now I had some extra eggs as well. And what can you do with eggs? baking :D If you have some butter of course. So, once I had butter, I decided to make a cake. Not a cupcake, just a regular, well tasting cake. With some whipped cream. Love it! To share this love with you, I have added some of the sweets pictures.

Job insecurities


Ugh.. At the moment I am not so happy at my job. Since december I am sort of working part-time 2 jobs combined in one, and at the same employer. It's al very new and this second job is an organization in the build. It just started six months ago, so everything needs to be set up. My 'original'  job on the other hand continues. The pressure that comes with this is high. For a part challenging, but being at it for 3 months now I also see the debts of it. I feel like haven't got the time to do each job well. And on top of that I feel like I don't seem to fit in the team anymore. Don't know what it is exactly, but just these minor hints (well, in my eyes). Looking weird at me, not grasping what I am saying, making comments out on the hallway, asking me to think out of the box, but when I am asking certain questions, replying very much inside the box, and these sorts of things. it takes up a large part of my life. I like to go there every day with new confidence, but these last few weeks every day this renewed confidence is degraded by these little events. You probably know I am a very insecure person, so this sure doesn't help. It really does make me think about the content of the job. Because I get to do something I thought I liked. But know I am not sure. But has it to do with the job content? Or the circumstances which just make it difficult for me to do job properly.

Bucket list update

Two years ago I posted my bucket list. Let's see what has become of it in these two years which have passed. Can I already check some whishes? Add new ones? The ones I can check:

* living together
* buying a house and creating a home
* Climbing the Eiffel Tower

My remaining bucket list:

* building my/our won house
* having a job I truly love
* Being happy in my job (as it is for a long time of my life)
* Getting married
* Becoming a mother
* Writing a story book
* Writing a cook book
* Following a course for being a judge at gymnastics
* Teaching gymnastics to kids
* Visiting / traveling to the Caribbean, south America, Australia, Indonesia, north America.
* Beimg able to make beautiful decoraties for cakes and cupcakes
* .............

Think positive to make things positive

While surfing the internet in my own quest, I encountered 10 interesting tips I would like to share. Since the end of 2013 and the wake up call I got as off everything that happened to dad, I am searching for my my mindset in life. In the last few years it has been triggered by external things like education, status and career. But I believe happiness can be found internally, coming from the way you go upon your life. So think positive to make things positive. It is kind of hard to explain as I haven't figured it out quit yet.  So if you are on a same journey in finding your place in life and the way you want to go about it. Then I would like to share these 10 tips with you, which I feel like I have to try.


1. Meditate or do yoga.

It should help to get your focus away from your thoughts and bring it to your body. Last week I had an interesting meeting with someone wo trained a class called ' get out of your head, into your body'. I haven't done medication of yoga yet, because I feel i am too restless. Perhaps I should just try it then to become more relaxed. It is sayed to help you stay present. Live in the moment, instead of jumping to what could happen or what happend in the past. 


2. Smile.

Smiling helps change your mood and relieves stress. It takes fewer muscles to smile than to frown.


3. Surround yourself with positive people.

When you are stuck in a negative spiral, talk to people who can put things into perspective and won't feed your negative thinking. 


4. Change the tone of your thoughts form negative to positive.

For example, instead of thinking, " We are going to have a hard time adjusting,"  think, "We will face some challenges, but we will come up with solutions that we will be happy with".


5. Don't play the victim. You create your life - take responsibility.

No matter what happens, there is always a way out. You will always have the choice to make change happen. And you are the only person in your life who can initiate that. What can you do to make a change in the situation. Someone else isn't going to do it for you.

6. Help someone.

Take the focus away from you and do something once for another person. Already did this one and it will satisfy you. Last week I got a wonderful thank you from a new co-worker for helping her out. By helping someone else, I felt good.


7. Remember that no one is perfect and let yourself move forward.

It is easy to dwell on your mistakes. Learn from them and move forward. And remember it goes for others as well. Learn from your mistakes and recognize one, apologize.


8. Sing

Singing makes you feel better. When we sing, we show our feelings and this provides an amazing stress relief. This is what the tips says. Why? I don't know. Is it true? Do we show our feelings when we sing? I don't know. But it is fun to do and makes me happy.


9. List five things that you are grateful for right now.

Being grateful helps appreciate what you already have. Here's my list: Mom and dad, my boyfriend, a warm home, traveling around the work for the first time for real (hello USA!) and a job which enables me to do so.  Five is too short. I am also grateful for my friends, my and my family's health and the 2 loves of my life (cats :)).


10. Read positive quotes.

As reminders to stay positive. Kind off as tip 9.. Since 2014 I started making little notes at the end of the day with things I am grateful for that day. Just to get this positive thinking in my mind, and remind me of all that I have and am (and should be) grateful for. At this website I read this one which was shared. I like to share it again.
